Acridotheres tristis

A passerine, the myna is any bird form the starling family (Sturnidae). "Myna" is derived from the Hindi word mainā which originated from the Sanskrit term madanā.

The flight of mynas is strong and direct. They are noisy and gregarious. Their preferred habitat is in the open countryside;  they eat insects and fruit, but as they live around human habitations, and have become omnivorous.

The plumage of mynas generally dark, often brown, although some species have yellow head ornaments. Most species nest in holes. Some species have become well known for their imitative skills.

There is no fence nor hedge round time that is gone. You can go back and have what you like of it--if you can remember.

A Tribute to Elton John and Bernie Taupin

Curtains (from Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy 1975)

I used to know this old scarecrow
He was my song, my joy and sorrow
Cast alone between the furrows
Of a field no longer sown by anyone

I held a dandelion
That said the time had come
To leave upon the wind
Not to return
When summer burns the earth again

Cultivate the freshest flower
This garden ever grew
Beneath these branches
I once wrote such a childish words for you

But that's okay
There's treasure children always seek to find
And just like us
You must have had
A once a upon a time

Owl Part 4

Menacing and mesmerizing

Inert and unruffled as a statue

But poised for instant flight

Some sort of yoga posture

Neem Blossoms

What I cannot capture and transmit is the heady perfume emanating form the blossoms.
