Rest in Peace Munna

The more the universe seems comprehensible, the more it also seems pointless.
- Steven Weinberg
Why was Munna given this accursed life? Just to suffer in his dark world and leave behind grieving parents and siblings, not to mention a helpless palliative care team?

Munna

I' th' last night's storm I such a fellow saw,
Which made me think a man a worm. My son
Came then into my mind, and yet my mind
Was then scarce friends with him. I have heard more
since.
As flies to wanton boys are we to th' gods,
They kill us for their sport.
- William Shakespeare in King Lear

Rest in peace Sitesh

Sitesh has had his right leg amputated after he developed bone cancer. However, the disease had spread to his lungs. His breathing became increasingly more difficult. we could provide considerable relief for the pain and breathlessness with morphine and other medicines. He was also given oxygen, nebulisation and steam inhalation. Towards the end, his breathlessness and anxiety progressively worsened and he wished to be taken to AIlMS. Within a couple of hours he passed away there.

International Nurses Day

To mark Florence Nightingale birth anniversary and acknowledge the contribution of the nursing profession to society May 12 is celebrated as International Nurses Day. We had the privilege of four nurses visiting our Day Care & Transition Home. They imparted advice on health and hygiene and also helped around the wards and performed various nursing procedures.

We wish to offer our sincere thanks to these caring angels for sparing their valuable time and taking care of our children with genuine lave and empathy.

Labour of Love

The Garden takes shape
We were fortunate  to have a group of British tourists who came to India on a holiday and decided to do some social work.

We handed over the painting of some walls to the avid group. They started off in the area ear-marked for the cafetaria and went down along the stairwell and painted the facade of our Centre.

The stifling heat and sere conditions did nothing to dampen their enthusiasm. Perspiring, huffing and puffing up and down the stairs without an elevator, their joie de vivre was infectious.

They laughed and ribbed each other for their artistic (or lack of) talents.
