Hibiscus

The hibiscus is a 'refrigerant', and can be used to cool heating conditions in the body like inflammation of joints, painful urination, fever.

In Ayurveda, it is used to control the पित्त element (fire or heating) in the body and mind. It is therefore natural that this cooling impact also comes from increasing the कफ़ quality (earth and water elements) which impacts the skin and hair.

Hibiscus is also used externally for this 'polish' effect on the skin and hair. It is used as infusions and as summer coolants. Dry or fresh petals can be soaked in water and consumed as a cooling drink.

Memorable Quote

A human being should be able to
change a diaper,
plan an invasion,
butcher a hog,
conn a ship,
design a building,
write a sonnet,
balance accounts,
build a wall,
set a bone,
comfort the dying,
take orders,
give orders,
cooperate,
act alone,
solve equations,
analyze a new problem,
pitch manure,
program a computer,
cook a tasty meal,
fight efficiently,
die gallantly.

Specialization is for insects.
